One of the exciting events that comes to our area each year is winter baseball training games. Each year the two northern teams of Toronto Blue Jays and the Philadelphia, Phillies. Taking advantage of our very mild, if not down right warm winters is the choice of these two teams who bring their sport to our local towns. The Phillies play in Brighthouse Stadium in Clearwater, FL, while Blue Jays play in the Florida Auto Exchange Stadium in Dunedin, FL, which is the city adjacent to Clearwater. With March being the peak season for visitors here in our area, and February not trailing too far behind, it makes for perfect combination.

The immediate games coming up are

March sees even more baseball activity from the Jays and the Phillies, with over 30 games. The opposing teams in March will be some of baseball’s favorites, including these teams;

• Yankees
• Twins
• Braves
• Rays
• Red Sox
• Pirates

The good news is that the areas around the two stadiums have some perks too. The Phillies training stadium is at the heart of a shopping district with one or two eateries within walking distance and a whole lot more within a minute or two by car. The Blue Jays training stadium is located within walking distance of the uptown area of Dunedin, which has loads of fun shops, restaurants, and pubs.
